I hope you meant an either/or sort of thing..

What's the deal with the hotel arrangements?

you have a brunch scheduled for marathon grill? are you sh*tting me? I googled "marathon grill citation fine" hoping to come up with evidence to dissuade you, but look what i found as the first return:

"I don't eat at Marathon Grill because they're notorious even in an industry which is notorious for this kind of thing..." -Atrios, Wed. Oct.12, 2005.

Read the entry. I haven't eaten there for years simply because I know they are a notoriously sh*tty employer. if there is a reason to change that point of view, I haven't heard it

stinkor,
Spoke with Atrios about the issue prior to booking, but we're pretty constrained by time and location: most people travelling from out of town need someplace in walking distance, and as Atrios noted to me, there's a somewhat surprising lack of good brunch places in Center City.

But flame away, and feel free to organize the next one.

Speaking as a Philadelphian, it's one of the three. Either walk down Market Street (the hotel's right next to Market) take the Market/Frankford El a few stops or a cab for a mile and a half or so.

I'd recommend the El.

OK -- I should be scheduled for the whole enchilada, but won't be staying at the hotel -- flight not scheduled to arrive until 3:26 -- not staying at the hotel do I have to touch base there first or can I just show up at Lucy's?

Hey gang. My husband wants to tag along for this as well. The PayPal is preset for quantities of one so just to give you a head's up - I will have what will look like double payments.

Thanks! Can't wait!

A suggestion . . .

there may be some of us who either don't know our schedules, or don't plan to attend, but would gladly support the cause. To that end:

1. A "scholarship" button whereby one might anonymously donate a registration fee for someone.

2. A donation button.

Prior A,
Of course you may meet us at Lucy's. See you there!

Lucy's is a great little spot. Philly for Changes (the organization which came of out the Philly for Dean movement) had it's monthly meetings there for a while.

And Lucy's sister bar across the street hosted the book PR event I organized for the Great Orange Satan and Jerome a couple summers ago.

If you're a first time visitor to Philly and interested, if you walk you go past Independence Hall just a block to the south. It's the postcard view from Market between 5th and 6th Sts.

I can't even begin to tell you how disappointed I am that I can't be there.

Please blog for us that can't. We still would like to be a part of it all.
